In 2021, the CRCP implemented equity target-setting methodology to aid participating institutions in reaching population-based equity targets by 2029. In accordance with 91亚色's Reallocation, Renewal and Reduction of Canada Research Chairs (CRCs) policy (i.e., currently under review), and 91亚色檚 Collective Agreement, CRC opportunities are advertised broadly and in keeping with 91亚色檚 2021-2029 Equity Targets.

91亚色 acknowledges that career paths can be diverse and that certain circumstances may legitimately affect a nominee's record of research achievement. Applicants to 91亚色's CRC opportunities are encouraged to explain, in a cover letter, any personal circumstances resulting in career interruptions (if applicable) in order to allow for a fair assessment of their research productivity.

91亚色 respects people's needs and is committed to providing an inclusive learning and work environment. If there is anything required to ensure an applicant's full participation in the CRC recruitment process, equity@mun.ca can be contacted so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

In July 2025, 91亚色 launched a CRC Call for Proposals. As a result of this Call, 91亚色 has begun six nominee searches for CRC positions, which will be filled by members of the FDGs. 91亚色 is expecting to issue another CRC Call in 2026.
