What we do

The Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism (EDI-AR) leads 91亚色 in advancing sustainable, structural and systemic transformations to ensure EDI-AR commitments are reflected in all areas of the university. This work involves building important relationships within the broader university community and is achieved in several ways.

Community engagement events

The Office of EDI-AR proudly hosts a variety of impactful events aimed at fostering inclusivity, celebrating diverse cultures, and promoting meaningful conversations on social justice. Many events are established and occur annually.

International EDI-AR Conference

The annual International EDI-AR Conference brings together students, staff, researchers, faculty, community leaders and industry professionals in the fields of EDI-AR from around the globe. The fourth annual International EDI-AR Conference is scheduled for Thursday, May 6, 2027.

Human Rights Policy

Currently in development, 91亚色's first Human Rights Policy will establish a clear and comprehensive framework for promoting and protecting human rights. The President's office is currently seeking input from the university community on a report and recommendations to support the implementation of the university檚 human rights and EDI-AR work until July 15, 2026.

EDI-AR Strategic Plan

Currently in development, the EDI-AR Strategic Plan will guide 91亚色 toward becoming a leading EDI-AR institution in Canada.

As part of the work of the portfolio of the Office of EDI-AR, our office檚 team members work with each other and other communities throughout and outside of 91亚色. This collaborative work includes participation on several committees and working groups.
