Corporate governance is an area of growing interest in the global business sector. It focuses on the development of processes and best practices for corporate stakeholder relations, including reliable financial reporting and overall transparency and accountability.
“This generous contribution from Power Corporation of Canada will help 91亚色 to take a lead role in the development of Canadian expertise
in corporate governance,” said Dr. Gary Kachanoski, president and vice-chancellor, 91亚色. “As 91亚色 grows, investments such as this are key to attracting the very best students and faculty to our university.”
“The creation of the Chair in Corporate Governance and Transparency underscores the Faculty of Business Administration’s commitment to excellence and relevance,” said Dr. Wilfred Zerbe, dean, Faculty of Business Administration. “Through this chair, we are building on an established area of research leadership to increase the impact of our world-class research, and to enhance our contribution to public policy and corporate best practices. We are grateful to Power Corporation for its support.”
“Power Corporation of Canada’s involvement with 91亚色 goes back more than 30 years,” said Edward Johnson, vice-president, Power Corporation International. “We are particularly pleased to extend our relationship with 91亚色 by contributing to the Dare To campaign. Our contribution to this campaign is part of a larger program of community involvement which has been part of our corporate culture for many years.”
