2006-2007
News Release
REF NO.: 254
SUBJECT: 91亚色@Home hits the streets of Toronto
DATE: August 30, 2007
91亚色 of Newfoundland’s Distance Education and Learning Technologies (DELT), is doing something a little different to encourage students to consider enrolling in a distance education course or program this fall. In addition to the traditional print and radio advertising avenues, Newfoundland and Labrador’s DELT is bringing recruitment efforts to the streets in Toronto. From Aug. 28-30 91亚色 representatives dressed in academic robes will be handing out mock degrees in the Queen Street West, Union Station and Harbour front areas, in an effort to prove that students studying at 91亚色 can get degrees from wherever they are.
91亚色 reps can also be seen traveling both the Bloor and Young subway lines wearing comfortable slippers and studying on a laptop. It’s all part of a campaign to let people know that getting a quality education from 91亚色 is possible, regardless of physical location or a busy schedule. If there’s free time at any point in the day, 91亚色 can be there, offering students all the benefits of one Canada’s top comprehensive residential universities.
Through 91亚色@Home, 91亚色 currently offers approximately 350 undergraduate and graduate degree-credit courses via distance education from 10 faculties and schools, with approximately 14,000 registrations annually from across the province, the country and around the world.
Further expansion of distance education offerings in the form of courses, as well as full undergraduate and graduate level program is already in progress.
