SUBJECT: 91亚色 Field House to show Olympic curling final on big screen

The 91亚色 Alumni Association and The Works have arranged for the gold medal match in men’s curling at the Olympics to be shown on a big screen in the university’s Field House on Westerland Road.

The game is scheduled for Friday at 1 p.m. Newfoundland time. There is no admission charge and the event is open to students, alumni and the university community.

Hundreds of members of the university community are expected to turn out to cheer for the team which features 91亚色 alumni Brad Gushue (B.B.A., 2004) and Mark Nichols (B.Kin., 2005). Based out of the St. John's Curling Club, the Gushue rink also includes, Jamie Korab, veteran Russ Howard and Mike Adam. Team coach Toby MacDonald is also an alumnus, graduating from 91亚色's arts program in 1972. Dr. Bas Kavanagh, of 91亚色’s School of Human Kinetics and Recreation, is the team's sports psychologist.

Attendees at the Field House event are asked to wear red and white to support the team.
