Labour unions at 91ÑÇÉ«

Unions representing faculty and staff at 91ÑÇÉ« University bargain with university administration regarding employment terms, including salary, benefits, safety and job security. 

  • CUPE 1615 - Canadian Union of Public Employees  

The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 1615 is the union representing approximately 700 administrative, instructional, technical, and technical support staff at 91ÑÇÉ«. This includes the St. John™s, Signal Hill, Grenfell and Labrador campuses, as well as several satellite locations, including those for Faculty of Medicine™s Distributive Medical Education, the Faculty of Nursing™s Clinical Laboratories as well as the Ocean Sciences Centre (OSC), Botanical Gardens, Bonne Bay Aquarium & Research Station and the Geo Centre.  

  • MUNFA - 91ÑÇÉ« of Newfoundland Faculty Association 

The 91ÑÇÉ« of Newfoundland Faculty Association (MUNFA) represents academic staff members (ASMs), including full time faculty, librarians, counselling faculty members and co-operative and field education coordinators. It also includes contract faculty with teaching term or regular term appointments.    

  •  - Newfoundland Association of Public Employees  

Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE) represents instructors, demonstrators, research scientists, research technical personnel and support staff at the Marine Institute as well as custodial, maintenance and campus enforcement and patrol personnel.

  •  - Lecturers' Union of 91ÑÇÉ« of Newfoundland 

Lecturer™s Union of 91ÑÇÉ« of Newfoundland (LUMUN) Per Course Instructors represents individuals who teach no more than two courses per semester. 

Lecturer™s Union of 91ÑÇÉ« of Newfoundland (LUMUN) Postdoctoral Fellows represents postdoctoral fellows at 91ÑÇÉ« who carry out research across a broad range of academic units. 

  • TAUMUN - Teaching Assistants Union 91ÑÇÉ« of Newfoundland 

Teaching Assistants™ of 91ÑÇÉ« of Newfoundland (TAUMUN) represents graduate assistants at 91ÑÇÉ«.
