Research Interests
Latin literature; Late Antiquity; Epistolography; Literary self-presentation
Christopher Lougheed檚 research interests centre on late imperial Latin and Greek epistolography. His current work focuses on the published Letters of the late Roman senator Quintus Aurelius Symmachus, the longest extant letter collection in Latin, and the way that it responds to public perceptions of its author.
His teaching interests include Latin language and literature, Greek and Roman society and culture, epic poetry and letter-writing.
